12 months, 172 members and more 3D printers than I can count. Yesterday we celebrated the 1-year anniversary of the Milwaukee 3D Printing Meetup.
The Milwaukee 3D Printing Meetup is a group of 3D enthusiasts and early adopters who are leading revolution in a state that built a name upon manufacturing. Our meetup has grown from a 3D printer show-and-tell to a group of experts, highlighted by our keynote presenters every month. We’re making more than plastic objects, we’re making history.
This past weekend we successfully ran a CAD session at the Milwaukee 3D Printing Meetup, with tutorials for 7 different programs! I’m amazing at the breadth of knowledge that our attendees bring, we are the only conference in the area that offers free CAD demos to the public.
Moving forward, we will continue meeting on the first Saturday of every month. Our other sponsor, Milwaukee Makerspace, will continue hosting the events. Every month we have a different local professional give his expert perspective on the fast-paced industry.
Next month a representative from Coex3D (filament manufacturer in Wisconsin) will give a talk on Polymer basics, polymer properties, overview of the filament extrusion process, and an overview on various types of polymers like PVOH, glass polymer, conductive high-temperature ABS, etc. Did I mention he’ll be handing out free samples of PLA & ABS!?
See you in November!
